2022 Fall Capsule - Desert

Living in the desert, we don’t get a typical fall. Since the weather tends to be more mild but still warm during this season, you can make fun combinations with lighter pieces and darker fabrics. The items in my list are items I find myself picking over others during this time of year, so it’s more practical and realistic. I like to have some pops of color since the fall neutrals blend so much with the desert color scheme of where I live. Here’s what’s on my recommended capsule:

  1. black gauze cotton button down - mine is from Anne Klein

  2. white gauze cotton striped button down - mine is Universal Thread

  3. a turquoise blue peasant blouse with white polka dots and collar - I got mine from Universal Thread

  4. a black tube top - this one is J. Crew

  5. regular and one shoulder tanks in black, dark green, and bright red - I buy mine from Target

  6. a sleeveless knitted white sweater with stripes - mine is old Zara

  7. a burgundy cropped sweatshirt - Target

  8. a brown suede jacket - mine is vintage

  9. a corduroy white jacket with waist tie - old Zara

  10. black boyfriend jeans - old Athleta

  11. black straight leg trousers - old Mango

  12. a sturdy canvas tote bag in a fun color and pattern - Baggu

  13. a small brown leather purse - mine is Staud

  14. black leather ballet mules - Vince Camuto

  15. black boots - Dr. Marten’s

  16. white pebbled leather sneakers - vintage Nikes

I like my current capsule because the combinations are endless with just these pieces alone! The layering is fantastic because we go from sunny days to chillier nights, so I never have to feel to hot or too cold. The pops of color add something a little extra to a classic outfit, and helps keep the look fresh and current.

Now, you don’t need to go out and buy all of these new clothes! This is what I’ve found personally in my wardrobe already that I go to the most. Definitely use this as more of my personal suggestions when you’re noticing missing pieces in your current wardrobe.
